2009 Greenbank Farm Loganberry Festival
Fun for the family July 25th & 26th!
It’s summer party time on Whidbey Island. The annual Loganberry Festival at the Greenbank Farm is July 25 & 26. Music, food, wine tasting, arts and crafts booths are popping up around the main barns from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. all weekend and admission is free.
Live music abounds all day with an interruption every two hours for the much anticipated loganberry pie eating contests for children ages 12 and under. Children's programming for the event is being planned, and will include interactive and visual fun for all.
New last year was the professional artists demonstrating what they do. Featured artists include Betty Rayle, plein air painter; Mary Burks, fiber artist and weaver; Joan Brosnahan, mixed media artist; Pat Brookes, watercolorist; Wendy Ferrier, spinner and weaver; Alexei Kazantsev, sculptor and photographer; and Pat McVay and Steve Baccus, chainsaw artists. This year more artists in action are planned.
Keeping with an “Artist theme:” the Rob Schouten Gallery, Artworks Gallery and Raven Rock Gallery will all have special presentations for the Festival.
Jim Freeman, widely acknowledged as Whidbey’s conductor of fun, is the main stage master of ceremonies, who keeps the music flowing and may have some surprises in store for us this year! Watch for updates.
