It’s summer party time on Whidbey Island. The annual Loganberry Festival at the Greenbank Farm is July 24th and 25th, sponsored by Whidbey Island Bank. We look forward to a weekend packed full with music, food, wine tasting, arts and crafts booths are popping up around the main barns from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free with just a requested $5.per car fee for parking.
Live music is featured each day with an interruption every two hours for the much anticipated loganberry pie eating contests for children ages 12 and under. Other children's activities will take place over the course of the festival.
A.K. Mimi Allin, a renowned poet, will have a special hand made yurt in the teardrop garden by the art galleries in which visitors may enter, one at a time, to experience the sciptorium she will have set up with poetry scrolls and poetry drawings.
Jim Freeman, widely acknowledged as Whidbey’s conductor of fun, is the main stage master of ceremonies, who keeps the music flowing from start to finish. Saturday starts off at 10 am with LocoMotion, midday music includes the Shifty Sailors and we will top the evening off from 5-7 pm with a street dance when Whidbey Island favorites Janie and Joe bring together a group of friends with Mojo Medicine to entertain and excite you.
Sunday’s music includes Matt Schmiesing, sax- man Danny Ward with Reality, followed by local favorites The Rural Characters. The day ends with Weapons of Mass Destruction, so watch out!
More to come as we get closer to the event!
We will have demonstrations outside by Bachus and McVays and other chain saw artists creating unique wood carvings and Artists in Action in the Barn doing demos of painting and weaving and other artwork.
Up to twenty wineries will be on hand to offer tastes of their wines. We will feature a beer garden as well as many hot food booths to dazzle your palate. Many art, food and craft vendors will be selling their unique hand made wares.
To participate as a vendor at the festival please use the attached vendor application either for arts & crafts, food, or home business & commercial.
