2009 Greenbank Farm Loganberry Festival
Fun for the family and lots for all to do!

Thank you to all the artists who participated in the poster contest this year! We have two wonderful pieces of artwork, one used on our poster - The Herons by Robert Bengtsson -one that was the people's choice award winner -Kathleen Marshall. Both will be available for prints and T-shirts at Loganberry Festival. There will also be a chance drawing to win the orignals of each. Tickets are $5. and will be sold at the Festival.

It’s summer party time on Whidbey Island. The annual Loganberry Festival at the Greenbank Farm is July 25 and 26, sponsored by Whidbey Island Bank. A weekend packed full with music, food, wine tasting, arts and crafts booths are popping up around the main barns from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free with just a requested $5.donation per car for parking.

Live music abounds all day with an interruption every two hours for the much anticipated loganberry pie eating contests for children ages 12 and under. Other children's activities will take place over the course of the two days.

Jim Freeman, widely acknowledged as Whidbey’s conductor of fun, is the main stage master of ceremonies, who keeps the music flowing beginning Saturday with Randy Bradley Band, a local favorite with foot tapping fun. Then don't miss the well known and loved Stan Borenson at 3:30. Top the evening off with a street dance (sponsored by Whidbey Telecom) with Western Heroes and a mix of rock, blues and western songs many of which are original creations.

Sunday’s music launches with sazz man Danny Ward, then the Swing Again Jazz Band taking us all back to the fabulous big band era music and those well known tunes, some rocking with Janie and Joe in the afternoon and ending the event with the popular Dillinger's Clambake.

New items this year include demonstrations for Horse Trials for Trails, Dog Agaility training demonstrations, Chain Saw artists doing demos and Artists in Action in the Barn doing demos of painting and weaving.

Twenty wineries will be attending to offer tastes of their wines, a beer tent, numerous hot food booths to temp the senses and lots of art, food and craft vendors selling hand made wares.
