If you are interested in volunteering at the farm for an event, in the wine shop or with general operations
please call the Farm at 360.678.7700 or
email at volunteer@greenbankfarm.com
Be sure to let us know which event or chore you are interested in. Some need to be coordinated with other workers or supervisors, some we will hand you a tool!
Currently need help on these projects-
Over the past year we completed installing a set of double doors in the main Barn on the north side to access the lawn between the Barn and Cheese Shop, thanks to funding from South Whidbey Rotary and special discounts from Building Source, engineering advice from Jack Husband and labor from Richard Epstien Construction. Now we need the concrete patio outside the door.
We also removed the old carpeting in the Jim Davis House and installed wood laminate flooring, and vapor barrier, insulation and vents under the house. The front room was painted and it looks fabulous. The next project there will be the kitchen.
Next comes the remodel to the wine shop which will expand our square footage by nearly 50% more. Thanks to the design work of Rick Brown and engineering by Julie Buktenica and a lot of hard work by Ken Bloom, Carlos Harry and our staff we are well under way. We could use help with moving the plumbing, sheetrock, painting and the move itself (lots of wine to move around!).
The outdoor projects will be the landscaping of the north lawn between Barn A and the Cheese Shop (thanks to a grant from the Master Gardeners Garden Tour!) and putting up the fencing in the market garden area.Help is needed in maintaining the Loganberry Patch, and we are also replacing fence posts in the pastures that have rotted out.
We have an old storage shed that needs some serious TLC in the form of concrete flooring, replacing rotten wood and installing a couple of doors. We thank Hanson's Building Supply for a donation that will help with this!
Give us a call at 360-678-7700 or email volunteer@greenbankfarm.com to offer to help and let us know when you are available.
